Junglefruit™ has established itself as a bush food harvesting company located in the Northern Territory of Australia, for the sole purpose of wild harvesting native seeds and fruits. The predominant focus of the Company is the harvesting of Billygoat Plums (Terminalia Ferdinandiana) and Green Plums (Buchanania Obovata).
Our harvesters qualify for employment through an induction process; learning essential skills to harvest the fruit sustainably and ethically with minimal disturbance to the environment.
Our supervisors on harvest sites collect data, document plant development, and monitor locations to ensure recruitment of the species is maximised each season
Billygoat Plum’s have the highest recorded level of natural vitamin C content of any plant in the world. It has five times higher anti-oxidant capability than the blueberry, contains vitamin E, folate, zinc, magnesium, calcium. and has a high potassium/sodium ratio, which may assist to reduce hypertension.
Used traditionally as a treatment for coughs and colds, it embraces antiseptic, antibacterial, anti-fungal, anti-cancer and anti-inflammatory activities
